Federation Cup Heartland, Others Seek ¼ Final Ticket In PH

The group stage of Nigeria’s 2012 Federation Cup, also known as the FA Cup is scheduled to commence today in four centres across the country.

The centres include Bauchi, Lagos, Port Harcourt and Ibadan.

In Port Harcourt, Heartland FC of Owerri, Gombe United of Gombe, Plateau United of Jos and Nasarawa United FC of Lafia will contest for the two quarter final tickets at stake.

Already, all the clubs have arrived Port Harcourt awaiting the draws and fixtures scheduled for this morning.

According to the Secretary, Rivers State Football Association, RSFA, Mr Ibigoni Benjamin-Akobo, the Sharks Football Club Stadium will host the matches, except one of the final matches two of which would be played simultaneously at the venue and the Liberation Stadium, Port Harcourt.

The Secretary said that arrangements have been concluded to ensure a hitch-free competition and urged football fans to throng the venue and watch good football matches.

He disclosed that two matches will be decided today, Wednesday and Friday by 1.00pm and 3.00pm, while that of Friday will both be played by 3.00pm.
