The Okan-Ama of Ngo, HRH Uboon Ujile Ngere, says the naming of the first Nigerian indigenous built rural ship after Andoni is a recognition of the palace of Andoni in the scheme of things. Speaking in an interview with newsmen shortly after arrival from Lagos where he had gone to witness the commissioning  of the “NNS Andoni” by President Goodluck Jonathan, Uboon Ngere who is a second class traditional ruler in the state, said that the situation was a reflection of the contributions of Andoni Local Government Area to the socio-economic development of Rivers State and the entire country.

According to him, the place of Andoni in the economic development of Nigeria was now being recognised by both  Rivers State and the Federal Government.

The traditional ruler  commended the Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for the several developmental projects being carried out by his administration in Andoni . He listed the on-going Ogoni/Andoni/Opobo Unity Road, the on-going model secondary school at Ngo and the several model primary schools built across the local government area as some of the projects the governor was embarking upon in the area.

According to him, when completed, the projects would go a long way in uplifting the socio-economic development of the area.
